Fake webcam programs such as ManyCam have been banned from Chatroulette on the new version. Unless you enable a real webcam, you cannot connect. There is a work around for this ... want to know what it is?

Chatshock was hesitant to release this information at first. We don't want to counter-act the efforts of chatroulette to improve the service. However, The bottom line is that it's only a matter of time before it becomes common knowledge anyway.

Besides that, we feel that this is a feature that should remain. The ability to display video, text and effects over your webcam adds to the fun and entertainment. Honestly, we don't think chatroulette would be the same without it. It is unfortunate that some users abuse the use of fake webcams but banning them from chatroulette is not going to help clean-up the site. In our opinion, Chatroulette needs to bring back the report button with new functionality, but thats another article.
